In honor of this amorous day we wanted to share with you some of our historically romantic buttons that are on display in our button museum and hidden within our design studio.
Cherubs (with wings) and Putti (without wings) were symbolic of child-like playfulness during the Renaissance, as well as the Baroque and Rococo periods. A cupid is defined as a figure with a quiver, bow or torch according to the National Button Society guidelines. Some of our buttons in the museum range from a simple cherub with his arrow to a detailed depiction of Cupid forging the rings of matrimony.
