We may think of these long-ago ancestors as tight-laced, but they certainly focused a great deal of energy on representing through design the affairs of the human heart.

That's why any antique button book or museum runs riot with Cupids, cherubs and roses, and ours is no exception.

In recognition of Valentine's Day next Monday, we present a selection of our most romantic buttons, all of which date from the late 1800's.
