Beautiful Button Jewelry

On February 3 we wrote about "Beautiful Button Jewelry," Susan's gorgeous book filled with do-it-yourself projects (see post at http://bit.ly/fxeWPP), all geared to help you turn your family treasures into wearable art.

Since publishing the book in 2005, we've received some really fun letters from fans.  Judging from what we hear, you all seem to have a box of buttons found somewhere in a grandmother's or great-aunt's sewing room, or that you spied across the room at an estate sale.  And you've been busy turning those buttons into some really great jewelry.

We want to invite you to show us what you've created.  We're excited that, like us, you've found beauty and art in everyday treasures.  In fact, we're so excited that we've decided it's time for a contest!

Send us photos of jewelry you've made from buttons using the DIY instructions in "Beautiful Button Jewelry" and we'll put your name in a hat.  On June 1, 2011, we'll have a drawing and the winner will receive $100 in retail jewelry from the Grandmother's Buttons website (www.grandmothersbuttons.com).

The rules are simple - All photos must be submitted by e-mail to grandmothersbuttons@gmail.com and must belong to the person submitting them.  You must be willing to give Grandmother's Buttons the unlimited right to use the photo on this blog and Facebook, and the jewelry pictured must have been created by you.  If you've created more than one item, send us a separate photo for each item and we'll put your name in the hat again.

So get after it!  We're dying to see what you've created.
